Writing Made Hard

Well, I've finally gone and done it. I've started a blog even though I have no time for it. I suppose it is really something I need to do both to get things off my chest and to let people know who I am. BTW, who I am is Stephen LaFevers, a writer primarily of science fiction and non-fiction. I currently have a novel out from Whiskey Creek Press called Dreams of April Ten. I thought it was science fiction when I wrote it, but now everyone tells me it is a thriller. I guess there is some over-lapping there. It is about spontaneous human combustion, cloning, genetic engineering, shared dreams, hypnosis and mind control. It is also a puzzle-mystery where the reader tries to solve the mystery as the story goes through twist and turn after twist and turn. I have a non-fiction work coming out later this year from New Age Dimensions Publishing. It is on hypnotherapy.

But enough of that. I went to see the new Star Wars movie over the week-end and found it nearly as enjoyable as the first one. I didn't care for the two most recent as I thought they were too much like cartoons. They were so crammed with special effects that it distracted from the experience. This one had plenty of special effects, but they didn't look like special effects and so were not a distraction. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the first one, now called episode 4.

I've started working on another book that I think is science fiction and everyone else will probably think is a thriller. It is about the Loup Garou. More later. Steve
