Making a living on the internet

When you make a living on the internet, it pays to have the internet. We had an ice storm here several months back and during that time my router was knocked out. Since then, I've been unable to use the internet with my laptop and that is what I do most of my work with. My next book, coming in December from Mundania Press is an ebook and trade paperback horror story set in New Orleans. It is about the Loup garou, and local legendary werecritter. The book was written with a Canadian Author that I've never met. We did everything over the internet. So you can see why I need to have access to the net. Anyway, I have satellite internet service and when my router went out, I bought another and tried to make it work. No luck. I called the internet provider and was told they do not claim it works with routers and if I have a router problem I should call the router company. Instead, I went to the place that installed the internet and router and asked them to come out and fix it. I was told they could only come out if the internet provider scheduled it. Duh. So no help. I bought another router thinking maybe the second one was bad but no luck. I took the router and my new computer to a computer service place and asked them to set it up. They did, but it still didn't work. Finally I was able to get hold of the man who orginally set up my system and he agreed to come take a look at it. HE said the new router had somthing wrong with it. He would return the next week with another router (fourth one) and get me up and running only I never heard from him again and still have no service except from one computer that is tucked away and seldom used. It seems I must do my writing on my laptop in my favorite chair. So I still don't have my official website completed and I haven't done any writing in months. Cross your fingers. Maybe the service guy will come out this week and get the blammed thing working.
