Batman is back!
I just returned from a trip to Dallas and while there I finally got to see Batman Begins. I thought it was a terrific movie. It was played dead serious! That's right, no nipples on the armor or any of that silly stuff. Batman finally gets the respect he deserves! The beginning is a little slow, but there is no other way of telling the origin. Everybody knows the basics of how the little boy, Bruce Wayne, sees his parents gunned down by a criminal on the street, but few people really know the details of his life before and after that. Then we get to see how he got his Batsuit, his Batmobile and other toys--we even see him making a batarrang! It is all very interesting. Once he finally puts on the suit, though, about a third of the way through the movie, things really start to roll. Serious Bat fans will not be disappointed in this movie. However, if you liked the nipples and costumed clowns like Mr. Freeze and Batgirl, you may not be satisfied. I thought it was fantastic.
Is it one of those stories that I wish I had written? Not really, but it was pure fun! Which movies do I wish I had written? Somewhere In Time, a film that really wrenches the emotions from a person. Oh and Stargate, although I did kind of write it once in a book called The Last Guardian. Just like Stargate only different--no Egyptions, no pyramids, no military, no big government project, no space ships--otherwise very similar. It has big lizards and flying devils, magicians and tall ships that sail above the seas with dragons following along to eat the garbage--all just like in Stargate. Later, Steve
